About Willow Glufka
I am a self-taught artist living in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Taking inspiration from my natural surroundings, I work with acrylic paints to create bright and textured landscapes. With explorations in colour, I hope to give viewers a curiosity, a sense of wonder and ultimately an appreciation of nature.
Beginning with Nova Scotia, I intend to celebrate all of Canada; exploring each province and territory. By capturing the uniqueness of our landscapes, I hope to offer connection to our wild places. Early Life: Born in Brandon, Manitoba, I grew up camping, canoeing, and adventuring with family. When not outside, I was busy creating imaginary worlds and sketching characters. After moving to the East Coast of Canada and graduating from Dalhousie University in Halifax, I took a teaching position in Japan next to the Tateyama Mountain Range. Hiking in Japan, I realised the natural world could amaze me as much as the make-believe ones of my childhood.
“I want to paint all of Canada, to celebrate the diversity and wonder of all our landscapes.
Each meeting with nature gives us the chance to become connected, refreshed and creative.”
